STS-123 - Dextre Hauls Ass to Final Frontier
I'm not going to bore you with mission details. NASA and CSA are doing a fine job of it here and here resp.
No Siree. I'm treating you to my piccy album of Dextre Mission: It's As Easy As-123
I interview !!
WOW! MDRobotics (MDA)
have really jazzed up their web site. "It's nearly as good as
my blog!" says
Dex. A
marvelous image gallery
Dextre denies Hubble harm -
Dr. Science of
DeadBodiesInc.com "asked
me to introduce Hubble to the Atlantic, sooner than later. How could I? How
could HE! Like he said, I'm ".. a truly classy, gentlebot of a
machine."
So is it the end of beautiful pictures from deep space?
- Rand Simberg suspects Hubble repairs now unlikely from
Feb'05 NASA budget ("They'll probably send in the clones, nevertheless, to a fiery death with the old girl" -
Dextre)
Dextre wasn't far off the mark labeling the old girl (Hubble Space Telescope) as "space
junk". New hope for keeping
up the good work - without risking life, limb, or robot!
Need to have a word in the shell-like over at NASA. Dextre is bemused by their PR writers 'cleansing' details of contributing nations' contractors.
For example, this recent (and excellent) article on 'Working
Aloft': "Canada also is providing the new robotic "Canada Hand" for
the station, called the Special Purpose Dexterious Manipulator (SPDM).
Also .. the Canadians who built the Space Shuttle's robotic arm and the new Orbiter
Boom Sensor System
And ..getting
a "big hand" from Canada
Sure, it's probably an article style thing, but..

Features
The Family Album -
"My cousins and their parents" says Dextre, as proudly as any sentient
robot can. We've yet to ferret out the myriad of subcontractors but
try these links to the big players.
Dextre
Speaks Out - The talking robot and that famous interview with SheepOverboard.
Also, short interview on Dr.
Science allegation re Hubble.
Dextre's
Blog - the blogging robot, and world's most opinionated robot raves.
Talk to Dextre (via link at blog top left)
The First Robot Hero? -
Should she rescue Hubble, Dextre could be a household word, and first real
robot hero
Dextre on Hubble - Hubble hit by comet? No, just Dextre's sharp tongue: "Space junk comes to mind - but kindly don't print that"
Dextre on Dextre - "That's
not an erectile extension, it's 'ORU' - orbital remote docking"
Dextre on Ranger - "Great unit, if you need an assembly line space welder"
Dextre on Robonaut - "Hilarious on Springer as the girlfriend's chicken-walking 'other guy' "
